It's A Whole New World!

Hello my fair-weathered friends! So the holidays are upon us, and every year at this time there is a scramble among students to get part-time jobs in order to sustain our holiday escapades. I'm no different. My measly allowance will not allow me to have as much fun as I want to this holidays, and I cannot stand the thought of being home with nothing to do, and no money to go out...

On Saturday, I decided to go to the career and job fair at Suntec City, just to ya know, look around and while I was there I came across the Resorts World Sentosa booth. And boy was it huge! In fact, it towered over all the other booths! For those of you who don’t know, Resorts World is hiring over 10,000 people for all kinds of fields, such as hospitality, to work in the amusement park (UNIVERSAL WOOOH!!!), food & beverages; all the way from technical staff to frontline. And they're looking for ‘N' Level holders all the way up to degree holders, so there's definitely something for everyone.

Being my hyperactive self, I got so excited about Resorts World, despite the fact that I haven’t been to Resorts World; I made an impulse decision to visit Sentosa! Now, the parks and the rides and shops aren't opened yet, but the hotels are! And the casino of course, but that didn't interest me. The whole ambience and atmosphere of Resorts World, from the hotels, the theme park, to the various fountains made me feel like I was really like stepping into another world. Now bear in mind the whole place was built at a cost of $6.23 BILLION dollars. :O

WHAT I DID VISIT, THOUGH, WAS UNIVERSAL! Despite being closed, the kid in me was literally drooling as I peeked through the fences, cages, and barriers, trying to get a glimpse of what was soon to become every kid's dreamland. When I saw the famous big Universal globe rotating right outside the park, I nearly peed in my pants with excitement.

And as if that weren’t enough, Universal has ONE shop opened to public already. And guess what it is? HERSHEY'S CHOCOLATE WORLD! AAAAAAAH!!! Okay now that I’ve stopped screaming, I’ve got pictures to prove it. I went crazy inside, quite literally, for 45 minutes.

Here's the size of the Hershey’s kisses. And the size of the syrup OMG!

These gigantic versions are actually merely piggy banks! Now how cool is that? (:

Now the Reese's section really got me drooling. If you haven't already tried Reese’s peanut butter and chocolate goodness, you should kick yourself and go visit Candy Empire or Resort World's Hershey’s shop now! You’re missing out on so much! Here, though, they have the entire section! It was like walking into heaven. After much persuasion from my friend, I finally left the Hershey’s shop, and continued exploring the place. There were surprisingly a lot of people, all of them eagerly clicking their cameras to capture pictures of Resort World for the first time.

Another place I told myself I HAD to visit was the HARD ROCK HOTEL (: They have this really really cool rock shop... known as 'The Rock Shop'. Duh! Here, you'll find souvenirs from Hard Rock Singapore, including lots of memorabilia. Check out these very sneakers that Eminem wore in one of his music videos, very carefully conserved and locked away!

What really made my day was when I found out about the free shuttle bus that runs every fifteen minutes! It could take me back to Vivo City, and even all the way to the airport. So, if you live in the east, you've got it easy! I went home feeling all warm and happy inside. I seriously can’t wait for the theme park to officially open. Oh yeah, about finding a job? Haha yes, I’ve digressed. Stay tuned and I’ll tell you next week just where I’m working. Fun times. ;)

Hint: QUACK QUACK.

So have you checked out Resorts World yet? Let me know what you think of it and leave a comment below! :)
