Hi people. It has been waaaay too long since I last posted. At crazy, busy times like this, I'm reminded yet again that (contrary to what some non-poly people claim), life in poly is NOT all fun and games. THERE'S ACTUALLY WORK. HAHA. LOTS AND LOTS OF WORK.
I'm currently in my final year of Mass Communication at NP. What with my electives this sem (book writing, radio journalism, acting and directing), I've got assignments piling up left, right and centre. I'm finally comprehending the importance of not procrastinating. One of the best things NP has taught me is discipline. We're given lots of work but we are also given lots of time to complete them, so whether or not projects pile up depends on our own planning. :/
I have random thoughts floating around in my head now, so pardon me if I keep flying from one topic to the next. i wanted to tell you about my acting class last week. I had alot of fun 'cos we basically tried impersonating each other! We were secretly told to observe a specific classmate for a period of time without him/her knowing, then later, to speak and act out the same speech and behaviour sequence observed. It was pretty freaky watching others act out their interpretation of me. Really made me realise how my perspective of myself differs greatly from others' perspective of me.
Second random fact: I'm very proud of myself this week. Why? 'cos despite my heavy workload, i still managed to squeeze in weekday gym sessions after school! It helps that NP's GymWerkz isn't super crowded so i don't have to wait to use the great machines.:)
Random fact #3: I'm a Youtube addict and I've been especially hooked on watching Storytellers. This is a TV series where singers/bands perform in front of a small audience and intersperse musings about their life and songs in between sets. It really works 'cos you get an intimate feel of the artiste and his music, unlike the regular concert where you just hear song after song.
When Jack & Rai performed at NP last sem, they tried doing the same thing and it was a hit. The students got to find out a lot more about them while listening to their 'live' sets. Speaking of Jack & Rai (ya'll know i'm a big fan by now), i've got news fresh out of the oven! They may very well be coming to NP again sometime next year to perform so watch this space for more news!!! (: Anyway, it is more discipline and back to my books for now. More work to complete before i can escape again to my youtube world! To end off I'd like to share a couple of vids with you guys!! The first is a VH1 Storytellers performance by Matchbox 20:
The second one is reeealy, really funny so if you're not rolling on the floor with laughter by the end of it, then I WILL COME OVER AND MAKE YOU ROLL. WATCH THE WHOLE VID. It's a short one (; Single Ladies Gone Wrong!
